Social Marketing and Public Health Course Wins Global Award
The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) has announced its Gold Quill Award winners, and once again we are proud to be counted among the best in our industry across the globe. We are honoured to join the ranks of winners from 16 countries around the world.
The IABC Gold Quill program recognizes business communication excellence globally, and is acknowledged as one of the most prestigious award programs in the industry.
This year, we are pleased to receive a Gold Quill Award of Merit in Communication Training and Education for the Social Marketing and Public Health Course we developed with the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT).
This honour recognizes our expertise not only in planning and implementing creative campaigns and project but also our ability to mentor and educate audiences about our profession.
UOIT provides innovative and unique undergraduate and graduate programs. Designed to meet students’ interests and career aspirations, UOIT’s courses also provide innovative research and technological skills demanded by the world’s leading employers.
UOIT approached us to help develop curriculum and resources for their Social Marketing and Public Health course. We provided input on the name, learning objectives, content and materials for the course. Our contribution also included a case study on our SAFE Youth 2014 marketing campaign, as well as accompanying videos focused on the challenges and solutions that arose while developing and implementing the campaign.
The course has since been evaluated favourably and resulted in a paper which was presented at the Innovations in Technology, Education and Design (INTED) conference in Valencia, Spain, in March 2016.
